Over-the-knee boots: Flat

"There's no question: the shoe has disappeared."  This week's NY Times' "On the Street" is entitled Leg It.   Bill Cunningham is saying that the number of women wear boots, and in particular this year the style of over-the-knee ones, has exploded.  In his pictures I saw a lot of these boots in grey suede and  black leather, usually with a round toe,  worn with tights/leggings and fur or sweater coats.  The picture to the left is my favorite of the flat OTK boots.  The roominess in the thigh area gives it an urbane feel, rather than an overtly sexiness that was associated with thigh-high boots previously.

Let's check some cute options after the jump

These Alexandra Neel boots retail for over $1,000! Ouch, but currently on sale for $731.50.  Still hurts.  These are in black suede, and with a basket cut-out on top.

These Dolce Vita "Crosby" boots bunch at the ankle and has a 17.5 inch circumference according to Shop Bop and 15 inch circumference according to Dolce Vita.  Go figure.  There is also a difference in price between these two sites:  Shop Bop has them for the regular price of $320, and DV has them on sale for $200.

These suede ones from Bakers called Menlo are super cute with a tassel in the back and stud detailing.  And on sale for $90 from $130!

The last pair here is another selection from Dolce Vita, but from the diffusion line, DV.  Gia comes in black leather and has a slight wedge heel to give your leg a little more of a stretch coming out of the boot.  The retail price on DV is $179.  It has a rubber sole according to Nordstrom's site, so that may mean this boot will hold up in inclement weather!

Other places you may want to keep an eye on for OTK boots are Urban Outfitters, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Anthropologie.
