Anglomania: Jessie J's Shiny Hair

I have two posts about stuff that I am loving that happens to come out of England.  First off, Youtube recommended this video (yeah, I've been finding solace from schoolwork in Youtube music videos) and all I could think about is how shiny Jessie J's hair is!

I googled "Jessie J shiny hair" and this was the first video that came up:

Now, I was already looking for a good product to tame flyaways and static.  Tragically, as I mentioned in my last post, I re-discovered Makeup Alley.  This is tragic mostly for my wallet.  So quite a few of TiGi's S-Factor's products were highly recommended, as well as on sleekhair.com.  The blow that Makeup Alley dealt me was that a member said that she got the products from TiGi's website in a bundle deal.  So yeah, fast forward to an hour to two later when I bought two bundles, all for Lusterizer and the Flat Iron Shine Spray.  Between those two packages, I am expecting 6 products (that I probably don't need, yipe!) on Friday.  I cannot wait to try the Lusterizer! I will report back on the weekend when I straighten my hair.

Back to Black

I was saddened to hear about Amy Winehouse's death today, so as a mini-tribute, here are my favorite black eyeliners (in black, of course).

My favorite pencil is Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Zero.  It is super black and has amazing staying power.  To achieve a major cat-eye like what Amy started rocked after releasing Back To Black, it may be wise to set the shape you made with your pencil liner with Make Up For Ever's Aqua Creamliner and Eye Seal.

Pre-beehive, Amy slightly winged out liner from her top lid.  This is more my style, and when I do this, I layer MAC's Liquidlast Liner in Point Black on top of Urban Decay Zero.  Liquidlast will ABSOLUTELY not budge no matter how much you sweat or rub your eyes (like I do!).  I like my bottom lid to be lined too, so I close my eye and swipe Guerlain's Terracotta Loose Kohl Liner on the top and bottom waterlines.

To remove all of this makeup, I recommend Nars' Eyemakeup Remover.

If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, remember that with a lot of help it can be treated. Mary J. Blige went through addictions, abusive relationships and depression but in the long run still managed to come out on top.

Amy had more grittiness, originality and talent in her beehive than the whole careers of most pop stars out now, so she will be missed.

Music - Bruno Mars "Liquor Store Blues"

I just heard about this guy (when he got busted for cocaine), and so far I think his songs have something we are missing in the music now - simplicity.  Know what I mean? This tune is very melodious, musically pretty, and empathetic.

Busy Signal - One More Night

TGIF!!!!! Oh God, it is Friday isn't it???

More island music! Been pumping Selectah AJ's Rocksteady mix all week on the commute.  Lately I have been singing loudest to this reggae song with Busy Signal's deep, satiny voice.  Sounds familiar? It samples Phil Collins' "One More Night" but of course with a Jamaican twist with plenty patois.

For the Longest Time...

Well I have a to-do list a mile long so I feel like I haven't caught up to life.

Last night I went to Trader Joe's, and while in the salad section, the song below came on and it was so cool to look around and see everyone humming, whistling, mouthing the words, or tapping their feet along with the melody.  When I got home, for the life of me I couldn't remember  what song that instantly lightened my mood, but when I woke up this morning, it smacked me!

woooah ooo ooo oooo
